Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Word 'em Up (the "App") provided by WordRise ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, a parent or guardian must accept these Terms on your behalf.

2. License

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

3. User conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Cheat, use bots, modify the App, reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to bypass our anti-cheat protections (App Check, Firestore rules, etc.)
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent scores to leaderboards
• Exploit bugs or glitches for unfair advantage
• Use the App for any illegal activity
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Upload offensive, harassing, or infringing content (e.g., in nicknames)
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the App

We reserve the right to remove accounts, leaderboard entries, or nicknames that violate these rules, at our sole discretion.

4. In-app purchases and virtual items

The App may offer in-app purchases for virtual items (power-ups, currency, cosmetics). All purchases are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to their terms. Virtual items have no real-world value, are non-refundable (except as required by law), and cannot be transferred outside the App.

5. Advertisements

The App displays ads via Google AdMob, including banner, interstitial, and rewarded video ads. Watching rewarded ads is optional. See our Privacy Policy for details on advertising data.

6. Content ownership

All content in the App (graphics, sounds, code, word lists) is owned by WordRise or licensed to us. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

7. Account termination

You may delete your account at any time via Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, all associated data will be deleted per our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

The App is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, bug-free operation, or specific results. Leaderboard availability depends on Firebase/Google Cloud infrastructure.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WordRise is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for in-app purchases in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Madrid, Spain, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction require otherwise.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
